No Fear Comedy
In July 2018, I hit my first open mic at a bar in the Chicago suburbs. I hadn’t told anybody that I was giving stand-up a try, not even family or friends. It had been a while since I had experienced such fear...yet felt so alive at the same time. The set was noteworthy only in the fact that I had stepped out of my comfort zone. Now the question was would I let the fear of failure paralyze me or motivate me to get up there again. I chose the latter and am now getting the kind of laughs that I never thought would be possible based on that first night. Now if Fear tries to get in my way, I tell it to “Move over. I have a show to do.”
